Lama has lovely walks, and we also used it as a great base for day trips to Plage du Lotu and Plage de Saleccia. At Case Latine, our spacious, beautifully designed suite had a magnificent view. The service was warm and attentive, and the cook made delicious food with fresh local ingredients. The best risotto I’ve ever had, honestly. We had a fantastic stay.

The family has brought their vision to life beautifully, making the place feel elegant while still welcoming. The owner’s two adult children are closely involved in running the hotel and restaurant. Both have a great attitude and, as far as we could tell, the strongest English in the area, so you’ll likely see them regularly. We stayed last August and loved the unique setting, the rooms, pools, scenery, and food. It all matched what we’d hoped for. Lama is an intriguing village worth spending a few days exploring. A few practical things caught us out, especially as tourists. We found it very hard to get accurate opening hours for the restaurants listed on Maps. One had a very poor local reputation, and we did get a bit sick after eating there. If you stay in Lama all day, there may be nowhere open for lunch or afternoon drinks, not even a corner store. We nearly missed dinner at the hotel one night because of confusion about reservations and availability, though the staff worked hard to make an exception and keep us happy. I’d stop at a supermarket before arriving, with Spar in Ponte Lecchio the closest, and pick up snacks and drinks. There are stocked minibars in the rooms, and we could generally save some of the large, delicious breakfast for lunch, but I wouldn’t count on that. I hope Case Latine can find a regular way to serve lunch and drinks during the day, so guests can spend more time relaxing and enjoying the spa, pools, and natural beauty instead of sorting out basic logistics. You’ll need a car in Lama. The village is very steep, confusingly laid out, and extremely hot in summer. Even the hotel uses a golf cart to shuttle guests between levels, though sometimes it was hard to find. We enjoyed walking around, but got very sweaty and sometimes needed the car for errands. This is one of the best and most unusual hotels I’ve stayed in, and I recommend it. Come prepared to be patient, speak a little French, or use hand gestures confidently. The timeless, majestic sense of relaxation here is well worth it.

We had dinner here tonight as a family and really enjoyed it. The setting is stylish and beautiful, the service was great, and the food was delicious. I’d happily recommend it.

The views from the hotel are unbelievable, just breathtaking. It’s a wonderful, friendly family-run place, and they clearly love Corsica and care about giving guests great service. I can’t thank them enough for all their help during our stay. Our room was spacious and beautifully furnished, with a luxurious feel. The hotel and room were exactly as advertised, and the whole experience was second to none. If you want a quiet mountain escape, this is the place. Five stars!

The photos really don’t do this place justice. The hotel is incredible, the location is great, and the scenery takes your breath away. They’ve thought carefully about every detail. We’ll definitely be back!
