La Pinède

The breakfast she made was just right, with lots to choose from. You can tell she really likes making guests feel happy. The hosts were incredibly kind, and although the bathroom was shared, it was clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful stay and loved the hospitality. I'd happily recommend it. Thanks again for the lovely breakfast!

We had a really pleasant stay. The house is lovely and quiet, with wooded grounds all around, and the hosts were very kind when they welcomed us. Our room was clean and comfortable, with very comfortable bedding. The large bathroom had both a shower and a bathtub and was spotless. Breakfast was generous and excellent. 👍👏

Anne-Marie and her husband were so honest about our change of plans: when we had to leave a night early, they immediately listed our two rooms again so we wouldn't be charged for that night. We'll definitely come back. We also really enjoyed the warm welcome and peaceful setting, and breakfast was generous with plenty of variety.

We still laugh about our night at Chambres d'hôtes de la Pinède, remembering the scratchy towels, the creaky door and those blankets that seemed straight out of the 70s. It felt almost like staying at "Les Tenardiers." We were there for a wedding at La Bastide d'Astres, just 4 km away, and had booked two rooms for three people. We arrived in a hurry to leave our things and collect the keys. The photos had already made it clear the decor wasn't modern, but seeing the bed cover made me wonder whether it was washed between guests, especially during Covid. I hadn't seen that kind of scratchy cover in over a decade. At 10:00 a.m. the vacuum woke me up, since checkout was at 10:30. The owner saw I was still asleep and let me know that way. My husband was urging me to get up too, so I went to speak with her and asked for a little "humanity" because we were attending a wedding. She replied that 10:30 was the rule, as other guests were due to arrive. I was surprised she couldn't give me even another 30 minutes. I rushed through a shower, ironing my dress, putting on makeup and packing. My husband and our friend said that at breakfast the host asked them to move the butter into the shade, along with a bottle of water, in case it lost its shape in the sun. She also told them they could only have one croissant each. Not exactly a friendly touch. I thanked her when we left for giving us the 61-cent tourist tax, since my husband and I had paid €1.22 for the room in cash. That felt generous, especially as I don't eat breakfast in the morning.
