The owner's skiing tips for nearby Les Arcs and La Plagne were a real bonus, as were the lift pass discounts. I've never had such a warm welcome. The restaurant was good, and the apartment was beautiful, spotless, well insulated, and equipped with everything you might need.

For skiing at Les Arcs, I'd go by car, park, then take the funicular. Parking at the bottom of the Bourg St. Maurice funicular costs €3.50 per day. The shuttle up to Vallandry can be late, ignore its schedule, or get canceled without notice, so you could end up waiting for one that never comes. Our apartment was perfect for four, a couple and two teenagers. It was very clean, the owners were welcoming, and the restaurant served excellent, generous meals. The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed, and the windows shut out the stream noise very well. The welcome was really warm. With the restaurant as well, it was perfect. The local food was high quality and there was plenty of it.

Dinner was tasty and good, which was the bright spot. The accommodation left a worse impression. We had trouble communicating because we didn't speak the local language. Even after saying we had a reservation, mentioning the booking agent, and showing the confirmation email, it took the hostess 20 minutes to understand us, or at least to seem willing to. The first apartment had what we suspect were mites. We complained and were moved to another one, though we would've rather left if it hadn't been so late. Breakfast was very basic: four baguette slices, one waffle, one jam packet, and one hot drink per person.
