Les Gîtes du Picasso

There’s a restaurant downstairs where you can have lunch, or breakfast can be served around 9 am. I was only passing through and like looking for unusual places to stay, so I wasn’t disappointed. Still, it takes a certain kind of traveler. If you’re meticulous and demanding about the details, look elsewhere.

The night was quiet and pleasant, and the bedding was comfortable. It’s a unique place, and recreating the railway carriage from our youth was a great idea. We got an excellent welcome. The paintwork could use a refresh, and the kitchen unit needs updating. Outside, the floor at the carriage entrance and especially the railing need urgent attention to make them secure. I’m retired and quite handy, if that’s useful. It’s a shame we couldn’t eat there, since the bar-restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Thanks again, I highly recommend it.

A lovely, warm welcome, and the bedding was good quality. Staying here for a night felt like stepping back into the railway’s glorious past. The bathroom still works well, though it could use a little updating. Highly recommended 🙂👍

The welcome was really warm, but a power outage in the middle of the night caught us completely by surprise. It was very cold, and there was no way to reach anyone. We emailed and called several times but got no answer. It’s a real shame, because the rest of our getaway had been pleasant and this seriously spoiled it. No one came to apologize for the inconvenience, which was disappointing.
