The room was clean and breakfast was good, but there were several things that made the stay less comfortable. Although the space could sleep four, it had only one comfortable chair. The other two chairs were very uncomfortable, and the two bar stools seemed out of place, so one of us ended up sitting on the bed. The host could have been friendlier. I’m not sure she realizes that her curt way of speaking can come across as unkind. We booked the Lombard Gîte and liked how spacious it was, especially with our dog. But a bad sewer smell kept coming from the shower drain. The rubber mat provided suggested this was a known issue, and it didn’t do much to help. The Wi-Fi was very poor and wouldn’t work on our phones. It worked on the laptop, though with interruptions. Usually that wouldn’t matter much, but it rained, so we spent less time outside. During heavy rain, water also leaked quite badly from a beam above the front door. That seemed to be a known problem too. We realized this when we reported it, but nobody offered help.

The hosts made us feel so welcome, and nothing was a problem. Our room, La Royale, was beautifully decorated and very large, with a comfortable bed and gorgeous views over the pool, ramparts and distant lake. The building itself was beautiful too. Breakfast was amazing, with lots to choose from, including fresh juice, fruit salad, eggs and lovely coffee. I’d give this place even more stars if I could.

The view is breathtaking, the rooms are spacious, and breakfast was perfect. The owners were so welcoming, and their kids were polite and friendly too. The beds had big dips in them and weren’t comfortable, but I’d still definitely recommend this lovely place.

We travelled with family and our dog, and liked the relaxed, kind hosts most of all. The original, spacious rooms each have their own personality, and everything was spot clean. There’s a garden, a lovely view and parking nearby as well as inside. The place sits along the ancient walls. Breakfast was delicious, and we stopped here again on our return trip. We’ll be back.

The garden views were beautiful, and breakfast was delicious. We stayed at the Belvedere des Remparts Guest House and felt very comfortable in its memorable, eclectic decor. Our hosts were welcoming and had a good sense of humor. It rained, so we didn’t get to spend much time on the nicely designed garden terrace. We’d be happy to recommend the place.
