Getting around was easy because it was near the trains and within walking distance of the center. The office table was handy for leaving things on, and the window looked out onto the street without letting in much noise. The room and bathroom were basic and rather plain, and cleanliness could have been better. I had trouble finding the toilet paper. We were expected to take out our rubbish and wash our plates, which felt like too much given the daily price. I also didn't like that the heating was set to a fixed temperature I couldn't adjust. It felt cold to me. Service was poor: I never saw anyone at reception, which was open only until 7:00 in the afternoon, and my husband had to call them when he left to pay the city tax. Breakfast was poor in both quality and quantity, and not very healthy for my taste. There was bread, yogurt, buttered croissants, omelettes, packaged orange juice, honey, jam, Nutella spread, ham, cheese, and fruit. The coffee from the machine had no taste.

The room was small, simple, and only semi-clean. We had to clean the kitchen and empty the bins ourselves, and breakfast cost extra. It was very expensive for what you got; the rooms might be okay at half the price. We stayed in much better places on our trip for less.

We ended up staying at The Cerise for a week while AA Europe arranged accommodation during repairs to our broken-down motorhome. For the price, it was as expected and had everything we needed. The Old Town center was only a 10-minute walk away. The WiFi kept dropping several times an hour, which was our main frustration. The Reception staff, especially Fabien, were understanding about how uncertain our plans were and the fact that we had to take things day by day. Their flexibility and help made an already stressful, frustrating situation a little easier to bear. We want to thank and praise them.

The staff were nice and helpful, and both the room and bedding were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good, though it got very busy at times and there weren't enough tables for the number of guests. The toilet wasn't steady.
