8/10
The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and also looked after breakfast. But the hotel restaurant wasn’t open during our two-night booking, and I don’t know why or for how long. The hotel needs a lot of maintenance, and it felt expensive for what it offered. The local restaurant we tried was only open one night, so we had to walk farther for dinner on the second evening. I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is lovely and in a quiet location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was large and comfortable, with a good shower.

The evening meals were nicely presented and competitively priced. It’s a very good hotel and restaurant, and the staff were very helpful.

Housekeeping never came, and the hotel charges four-star rates for a two-star place. Would we return? Absolutely not.

It was fine, but nothing more.
