It was a late arrival, around 9 pm on a dark, full-moon November night, and we'd booked just 20 minutes beforehand. Still, we got a wonderful welcome. The building feels like something from an old history book, with unique architecture and a beauty that's lasted more than 340 years, over three and a half centuries. It's kept up with modern life's utilities without losing its heart. Keeping an independent family business going must be a daily struggle, especially with bills like electricity rising all the time. Well done 🙏 I also need to apologize to the person in charge. I had an embarrassing incident overnight and, because I was so ashamed, I didn't think clearly. I damaged the character of the room and tried to hide it 🙈. I'm truly sorry. I didn't mean to spoil your gorgeous gem.

We both fully recommend this hotel. The owner was very friendly, breakfast was excellent, and our apartment was comfortable. A really cosy, nice old hotel.

The owner welcomed us even though we arrived very late after booking only a few hours earlier. He opened the secure parking, then let us sit and unwind with wine and a couple of locally brewed beers before bed. The breakfast was lovely, and he was there again in the morning. It's a wonderful old building, and the rooms match it with their decor. A lovely one-night stay, in a great spot right beside the cathedral. One of the friendliest hotels I've stayed in France.

Hassan even made me a hot drink of lemon, honey, and ginger before bed and another for the morning when I was losing my voice from a nasty cold I'd caught on the flight over. I really appreciated the care, and I'm sure it helped my recovery. Karinne and Hassan take real pride in looking after guests and go the extra mile. Their restaurant was closed the night our group of eight stayed, October 16 of this year, so they arranged a reservation for us at a local place. Breakfast was excellent too. I chose the hotel especially for its history and its location by the Cathedral. It's charming and quaint, even if it may seem dated. I can't say enough good things about it, and the rest of my tour group felt the same. We were so glad we stayed. If you get the chance, book with confidence.

For a stay in historic Laon, this ancient hotel is well located and worth considering. It's been well cared for by the current husband-and-wife team, who are welcoming and kind in their own particular way. A nice place.
