The hotel is a pleasant spot for a quiet country break, with good local food. We had a large, practical family room in a lovely, peaceful rural setting, and the staff were very welcoming. The breakfast bill was my one real issue. My 2 year old had a small bowl of food, and I just had a coffee, but we were charged for and expected to pay for a full breakfast and a child's breakfast. It's the most expensive coffee I've ever had! Normally that wouldn't leave a bad taste, but I'd just told the staff there was some unwelcome wildlife in our room, and there was no goodwill gesture. Instead, we were charged more.

We only came for dinner, not an overnight stay, and had a table on the terrace looking over the beautiful walled medieval village of Larressingle. As the sun set, the village shifted through different shades, and later a walk through its mostly deserted streets at twilight made a perfect ending to a wonderful meal. The traditional Gascon food was fantastic from start to finish, and the servers were friendly and went out of their way to welcome us. We started with a pastry filled with baked Cabecou cheese and a salad piled with duck in several forms, foie gras, and walnuts. I had perfectly cooked duck breast, while my wife chose veal with local vegetables. Dessert was delicious too. I can't recommend this place enough.

The sauna was unavailable because of technical problems, even though we booked this room for the spa. When we asked the owner for a small compensation at the end of our vacation, they refused. We also ate at the restaurant, but it wasn't very good. There are much better restaurants nearby.

The location and view over Larressingle are amazing, and the coffee was good, so those earn a bonus star. But the owner was very grumpy and rude, and some of the other staff seemed to share that attitude. Twice, they turned us away when we asked for coffee on the terrace, even though the "Ouvert, Welcome" sign was out. It felt like they didn't want us there. If you're after friendly service, try the Bistro inside Larressingle. They seem happy to serve people.

We had a large, comfortable room in a delightful hotel, set in a wonderful area. The restaurant serves great food and wine, and there’s a sauna, Jacuzzi, and massage if you want them. I’d definitely recommend it.
