The apartment is spotless and roomy, with a kitchen that has everything needed and a nice terrace for sunny weather. It’s also a great base for seeing the area. Grasse, Valbonne, Vence, and other inland villages are under half an hour away; the coast is less than an hour, with Nice, Beaulieu, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Antibes, and Eze within easy reach. The owners live above the apartment, but are discreet and available if you need them. We highly recommend it, especially for the value.

The terrace was a lovely sunny spot, and its little veranda was just right for meals. We stayed with friends for a few days over New Year’s Eve. The apartment is clean and bright in a quiet, sunny area, though the walk up to the village is steep enough that anyone with mobility difficulties should plan to drive. Inside, the place felt short on character: the clear plastic tablecloth, Maison du Monde-style pictures, and piles of commercial brochures could use more care. It could be much more charming. The heating is noisy and disturbed people sleeping in the living room. The amenities are basic, so bring things like toilet paper and salt. The listing says so, though basic supplies are usually provided. There are enough cleaning products. The owner kept reminding us to clean, defrost the fridge, and sweep the terrace. At check-in, he focused more on our chores than on what the house offered, and wasn’t very welcoming. His husband was kinder and more cordial, even when we couldn’t work out why the TV wouldn’t turn on. It’s neither a great nor a terrible place, but it could feel more welcoming, more like home and less like being a guest. As of December 2019, it was no longer listed with Gite de France, though they still used the logo.

We enjoyed the quiet during our stay, and the hosts were friendly and helpful. They even went out of their way to sort out any problems. It’s a great base for visiting the Nice area.

A lovely welcome, a great location, and comfortable accommodation. Everything was perfect.
