I ended my Sentier Cathare hike here, and the welcome was lovely from the moment I arrived. They let me leave my backpack well before the official opening time, and it was great that the bar was open when I got there. Dinner was really good, including a vegetarian option for me, and breakfast was generous. They leave some space in the dorms for comfort, so three of us women shared a six-person room. Sadly, one person snoring badly was enough to ruin my night's sleep. Even so, it was a really nice place to stay for a night on a long-distance hike, and I'd recommend it.

In summer, the entrance can feel a bit like a pub, with plenty of people having a beer in the sunshine. Inside, it's a lively, communal gite with great rooms and food, right on the Cathar Trail.

The proprietor was friendly and laid-back, and it was clear he wanted us to have a good stay. WiFi worked well once we got connected. Our room was very clean, and clean sheets and towels were available for a small fee. The shared bathroom was spotless with a very hot shower. After a long day, we enjoyed the games, common area, and nice outdoor space. There was a compelling selection of craft beer and wine. Dinner was a delicious, filling three-course family-style meal: zucchini and chèvre tart, pork and pasta, then cheese and apple tart. Breakfast started at 6:30 am, which let us set off hiking early. The packed lunch was filling too, with dried nuts and fruit, a hard boiled egg, apple sauce, lentils, and bread. A wonderful place to stay on the GR 107!

After a 20km hike, we stopped at the site and found the staff helpful and friendly. The beer was lovely and cold, though it wasn't meal time and there were no snacks to buy. Two stars for that cold beer! The bar, toilet, and lower rooms weren't clean. We weren't expecting anything new, perfect, or expensive, but this gite needs more care and effort on hygiene. We visited 15+ other country pubs and gites on the Cather trail, so that's the standard I'm comparing it with. With some attention, I'm sure this place could be very nice.

The gite is right near the trail, so the location was really convenient for my Sentier de Cathare walk. I stayed one night in a clean, plain room. Dinner together was a great way to meet people from around Europe.
