After driving for 14.5 hours, we tried calling in the evening but couldn't reach anyone, so we quietly parked in the parking place for the night. In the morning, someone woke us and told us to leave right away. We said we wanted to check in and offered to pay for the night even though we hadn't used the facilities, but they refused. The staff member was unfriendly and seemed aggressive, using forceful gestures to make us go. It was a very unpleasant experience, especially with children. I wouldn't recommend it.

We spent seven nights in late July 25 at the Ciela Confort Chalet 3CH 6P, two of us with bikes and a car. It was a pleasant stay, with a great shower, lovely clean pools and peaceful surroundings. The chalet was functional rather than luxurious, and a bit dated. Our beds were comfortable, though the bunk beds would only suit children because of the limited space. It had plenty of indoor seating and a nice outdoor deck, which was welcome when the weather changed. We had lots of shade, though I would personally have preferred more sun. Parking right outside was convenient, but not every unit has that, so check the listing. A few things in the chalet were less convenient. The hob had two rings, not the four we expected. There was no oven, which we knew, so plan around the microwave. The half-size fridge had a freezer shelf built in, and keeping food at the right temperature was tricky: either fridge items froze or the freezer defrosted. The shower had strong pressure and very hot water, and the toilet flushed well. The TV had lots of channels, but none in English, which didn't bother us, though it's worth knowing. The pools were a highlight, very clean and lovely, but the surface around them gets extremely hot, so bring flip-flops or water shoes. The restaurant was advertised as open Friday to Monday. We ate there on Sunday evening and liked the food, but don't know what food options are like outside those days. The evening welcome was mostly in French and didn't feel especially welcoming to non-French speakers, though that wasn't necessarily a negative for us. The laundrette was easy to use and took card payment, €5 a load. The machines handle large loads and take about 35 minutes. There's one dryer, which we didn't use. Campers can leave items in the freezer at their own risk; I put in a tub of ice cream and it was still there four days later, so it seemed safe enough. There's no shop on site, but you can order bread from the bar or walk about 10 minutes to a supermarket. Each chalet gets one free WiFi code for one device. Extra codes cost about €15 a week, but our signal was extremely poor from about two-thirds of the way into the site, and the paid option was unreliable too. Before leaving, you're expected to clean the chalet or pay a cleaning fee. If you come prepared with cooking alternatives and shoes for the pool, it's a good place for a relaxed week. Just set expectations for the food, kitchen and language support.

We went with friends and shared a lot between us, using separate tents. It was really cheap, the facilities were great, and the views were spectacular. I'd definitely come back.

We had enough room for our tent and tarp, and the staff were really friendly. There are plenty of families in summer, with lots of activities for children, plus a small restaurant and a pool on site. The toilets and other facilities were cleaned three times a day. Bourg d'Oisans is only a five-minute walk away, with several supermarkets, bakeries and restaurants. A lovely place to stay, especially for cyclists.

The pitches are spacious, neatly laid out and hedged for privacy, with plenty of shade. The town is close by, and there’s lots for kids to do, including a trampoline, bouncy castle and ping pong. The pool was immaculate, and the facilities were clean and well kept. A fabulous campsite, I’d highly recommend it.
