Hôtel de Paris

It's a lovely place to sit and enjoy the morning atmosphere as the world goes by, and the coffee came quickly and was good. But on both of my market day visits the waiter was impolite, probably because my French is limited. There were no croissants at 09:30 and no snack options then, either. Service was poor. It could have been five stars if they were just a little more accommodating to Irish tourists.

We first stopped for a cold beer during the day, then came back the next evening for another and some food. The food is basic and inexpensive, but the kids liked having something simple. It's a nice spot with a big open terrace, and the service was friendly and relaxed. A pleasant place for a drink and straightforward, wholesome food.

The wrong drinks were brought to us, and they wouldn't change them. Everything seemed massively overpriced, and the owners acted as if our being there was a huge inconvenience. The incorrect drinks somehow came to over 30 euros. I first visited ten years ago, and this was my first time back since the pandemic. The owners must have changed. They were SO RUDE. We had amazing memories here, including being there when we completed on our first home. I'm hugely disappointed, resent the bad attitude, and will avoid the place like the plague and tell others to do the same.
