LOGIS Le Cygne

We ran into a small bike problem the next morning, and the owner stayed with us until he helped sort it out. The owners were amazingly hospitable throughout, and the restaurant served great food with interesting dishes and dessert. A great find in a small town for our overnight stop while cycling. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

The setting was lovely and the service superb. I had the three-course set menu, with huge portions. The pork practically melted in my mouth, and the garlicky chimichuri was lovely with it. Then came a Strawberry Pavlova that was out of this world. My daughter loved her fish & chips and vanilla ice cream. The lady at the front of house spoke excellent English, and her husband was working there too. One of the nicest meals we've had in Dordogne. Thank you so much.

We came as four locals for dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. We all speak French, but were treated like second-rate tourists. The meal was almost inedible, the wine was extortionate, and the service was abysmal. None of us will ever return. It's a shame, as the location is lovely and meals with the former owners were always excellent. Sadly, we haven't heard any good reports from friends since then either.

We spent a week at Hôtel le Cygne while visiting Le Bugue and the surrounding area. The family running the hotel and the staff were incredibly sweet and responsive. The hotel restaurant was very good, and breakfast was too. Le Bugue made a great base for exploring the Périgord, and the twice-weekly market was a real bonus. Also, a shout out to the nearby Cafe d’l’ Union for late-morning cafe and an early-evening aperitif.
