Cap Sud Caraïbes Hôtel

The online pictures looked promising, but unfortunately I can only warn people away. We had booked one night and arrived to find the hotel apparently closed and neglected: both gates were shut, leaves were on the ground, there were no cars or signs, only the hotel name and phone number. There was no doorbell, and the number on the sign went to an answering machine speaking French, which I couldn't understand. We spent about an hour trying the number, walking around the “hotel,” and asking neighbors, then gave up and found somewhere else. It was nearly sunset after we'd been out all day. About an hour later, a woman called from another number asking when we'd arrive. I told her what had happened and that we'd found another hotel. Since then I've been unable to get a refund through Booking.com. They contacted the “hotel,” which said it was open, but my photos show otherwise. Half the reviews here describe similar experiences.
