Best Western Chalet Les Saytels

The setting is lovely and charming, with that cozy alpine feel, and my room was clean, comfortable, well appointed, and had wonderful mountain views. I slept really well in the bed. The hotel’s location also made it easy to get to nearby activities and attractions, whether for hiking, skiing, or just taking in the Alps. I especially appreciated how friendly and efficient everyone was, from check-in through check-out. The staff were warm and genuine, and made a real effort to make the stay comfortable. Breakfast had plenty of fresh choices, and dinner at the restaurant was a treat, with delicious local food. I had a fantastic stay at Best Western Chalet Les Saytels and would happily recommend it.

The ski weather was kind of bad, but the hotel itself was super nice.

The chalet apartment was cold when we arrived, and it took a few hours after check-in before the regular heating made it warm. I had to go to reception several times to ask the manager to step in. They gave me wood and explained how to make a fire, but there was no kindling or fire starter, and I don’t think the fireplace drew air properly. I couldn’t get it going, and neither could the manager or assistant. It was a strange situation when I thought I was paying about 900 euros a night and my family’s warmth seemed to depend on whether I could make a fire. The kitchenette was convenient, though. The children’s bedroom seemed inaccessible to the cleaners, as it hadn’t been vacuumed. The pool looks great in the photos, but the water was freezing. The kids were excited to swim at first, though that didn’t last long. The hot tub was nice. Parking in winter was a bit complicated, but that’s winter.

The staff were really nice and friendly. The woman at the desk spoke a little English and was especially kind. The hotel is in a very small town, with very small rooms and limited breakfast choices. Our room faced the street, which was a little annoying at night if you wanted to sleep with the windows open. My mom struggled with the stairs coming in from outside, so we couldn’t use the elevator at night. It was a fine stay overall.
