The pool, sauna, views, and walks were all so lovely, and Peggy, our host, was incredibly kind. The food might be the best we’ve ever had, and the service was lovely too. The rooms were cozy, the beds comfortable, and the place itself is stunning. We spent Christmas morning through Boxing Day in this little magical spot tucked away in the French Alps. I’m so glad places like this exist. Thank you, 1864!

We had a very pleasant stay for two nights, thanks in part to the friendly, attentive staff and the beautiful, peaceful chalet. It was lovely to enjoy the surroundings in such a calm setting. We’re giving four stars because the food could be improved a little. Some things at breakfast seemed to be left over from the previous day, and the second dinner felt rather heavy, with starchy foods served several times. Still, that doesn’t take away from the quality of the stay, and we’re happy to recommend it.

The meals use local produce, and the wine list highlights regional bottles alongside some hidden gems at reasonable prices. The rooms have a warm, cozy mountain feel, and the spa is simple but comfortable, with views of nature. Service was impressive and attentive. It’s a timeless place to recharge and disconnect, and our stay was flawless. Try it as soon as you can.

The chalet sits in a secluded spot deep in the Bouchet Valley, with a magnificent view. We had a delightful breakfast the next morning, and the dinner cheese platter deserves a special mention for its wide selection of local cheeses, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Before that, we were welcomed with delicious afternoon tea and relaxed in the excellent spa while listening to the gentle clanging of cowbells from the neighboring farm. We slept well too.

Peguy was a delightful host, so kind, caring, attentive, warm, and always smiling. The cook was perfect, and the afternoon tea, dinner, and breakfast were all sensational. David made delicious mojitos! The decor was exquisite, and the place was spotless, magical, and magnificent. We highly recommend this address. Thank you so much for the hospitality!
