The place was clean, and the dishes were regional, but the weekend was only okay and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The shower pressure was extremely low and hot water took ages. You had to ask the hosts for everything, even a hot chocolate, beer or glass of water, and weren’t allowed to bring your own food or alcohol. Nothing was complimentary, not even a drink before dinner, and everything was charged. The beds weren’t very comfortable, and while the hosts didn’t seem unkind, they weren’t especially welcoming either. We weren’t given the menus beforehand or any choice of dishes. For the price, it felt overpriced. I could understand those limitations if it cost €15 a night.

The welcome was warm, and the rooms were comfortable. It’s in a good location, a little away from the main road but still near the slopes and shops. Breakfast and meals were very good.

L'Isalou is a private chalet now. It should be taken off the gîtes list.

Really lovely and welcoming, with a warm atmosphere. If you want to rent somewhere cheaply for a night or stay close to the slopes in Chinaillon, this is the place to go!!! ;-)
