The pool was dirty, the showers didn’t work, and the sofa bed was really uncomfortable. We also waited 25 minutes for reception to open so we could check out and get our €300 deposit back. The booking photos didn’t match what we found. I wouldn’t recommend staying here; it felt like they didn’t care about their guests.
The room stayed uncomfortably hot all night and into the morning. There’s no air conditioning, and the rooms on the far side of the pool get afternoon sun and heat up even more. You can’t use the pool before 10 am or after 7 pm, though it looked a decent size. The bed is the smallest double, but the bedding was nice. Check-in was a long wait: everyone has to wait until 4 pm to enter, and we queued until 5:15 before getting our room, with more people still behind us. The room itself is small, though it has a large balcony. It faces another balcony, so we kept the blinds down. The kitchenette has a hot plate, microwave, and fridge, but I’m not sure you could make much beyond cereal. They offer breakfast, but we skipped it. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it.
The main things I’d change are the lack of storage and the missing air conditioning. There’s enough room for another cabinet, and while it was September and most of the heat had passed, air conditioning would still be useful. Our room was spacious and clean, although there were a few marks on the walls, like there are in plenty of homes. The bathroom had a smell, but an air freshener should sort that out. Mosquitoes are to be expected in the Camargue and around the Golfe d'Aigues Mortes, given the swampy setting, so bring repellent. I don’t understand all the really harsh reviews. This isn’t a luxury resort, and €700 for 10 days is a modest price, so expectations should match that.
The area around the hotel made it feel like we were in one of France’s poorest regions. The owners were awful, with no understanding when things went wrong. Read every detail when booking and be ready for extra charges. Never again.
For a budget hotel, it’s okay. Nothing special, but not bad either. They expect you to clean up before leaving, yet don’t provide any cleaning supplies.
