Studios Les Aigues Marines

The best thing about our stay was being right beside the lovely Plage Boucanet, and we could park directly in front of the building. But a week here was far too long; it might be manageable for a weekend. The grounds and floors were strewn with rubbish and old, rotten mattresses. Mold covered the wooden shower frame, and the kitchen appliances needed a proper clean. There was no wardrobe for five of us, so we kept everything in our suitcases. Worse, the studio brochure included copies of previous guests' IDs. I wouldn't recommend it.

The terrace door wouldn't shut, there was a water leak, and the place was noisy and dirty. The parking space wasn't respected, and what was advertised didn't match reality. The low price didn't make up for the lack of quality. After I lost the key, nobody answered after 9 pm, even though I had a young child with me. The agency had no spare key and could only tell me to find a hotel, so I ended up paying €200 a night during the season. Good luck dealing with this in summer.

It's handy that the apartment is near the beach and has room for a family of six, but the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Bring your own sheets if you're staying for a weekend or a week; the ones provided aren't clean. Okay, but nothing special.

There's no elevator, and what we were offered was a large studio without a separate bedroom. The sofa bed used as the main bed was dirty and full of sand; the bedding was grimy, the cushions yellowed and stained, and the blankets were stained too. The supplied sheets felt like soft paper. The toilet and flush didn't work, and the kitchen items were very dirty and badly cleaned. The apartment was unsanitary. Avoid it.
