UNISOTEL Le Havre

The staff are kind and friendly, and I’d say this place is only suitable for a short stay. You have to pay separately for each amenity, including Wi-Fi, towels, and soap. The rooms are small, and the bathroom is cramped and separated from the bedroom only by very thin walls.

Parking behind the hotel is €3 a day, and the tram to Le Havre town centre stops almost outside, with a day ticket costing €4.5. Beyond that, it wasn’t very clean, there’s no bar or food and drink, and breakfast was poor for €6. You pay extra for everything: room cleaning if you stay more than one night, TV, Wi-Fi, and towels. The bathroom is tiny, with the toilet, sink, and shower all together. The shower is over the toilet, so after using it you have to dry the toilet before sitting down because it gets soaked.

The room is so cramped that two people can’t stand in it at once because the bed takes up all the space. There’s no ventilation, so after a night shower you have to open the window or it’s impossible to sleep. The bathroom door opens onto a section of the bedroom rather than a separate room. Towels, shampoo, and a hair dryer all cost extra. This feels like a motel, not a hotel.

For what we paid, the room just wasn’t worth it.
