Hotel Oscar

It’s easy to get around on foot from here, and the people are nice, though you don’t see them much since they aren’t always around. There’s a good view of the volcano from Oscar Niemeyer. Breakfast at the hotel costs 9.50 per person, or you can get a good one at the market 300 m away. Free parking is possible 750 m away, so you don’t have to pay the announced 11.50 per day.

We had such a peaceful stay, and check-in was easy. The room was comfortable and just right, and the location was perfect. Our view over the square was amazing, especially with the festivals and fireworks happening that weekend. I also appreciated the earplugs thoughtfully left on the bedside tables for anyone who wanted quiet. We loved everything about it, thank you!

The breakfast staff were so friendly that it felt like being at home with good friends. They really understand what service means. The hotel is in a great spot, right in front of the Volcano. I liked the fun 50ies design, though a few little details are worn. A lovely choice for a couple of days if you want a boutique hotel experience outside the chains.

We found cheap parking around the corner, 6€ for the night, and the location suited us well. Getting in was easy and fuss free. The room was clean and an okay size, but the bathroom felt cramped, especially the shower door, and could use fresh paint. The bed sagged a little, and the pipes were really loud whenever someone upstairs used the bathroom.
