Jost Hotel Le Havre Gare Hotel

The premium room was lovely, with a comfortable bed, a good shower, and a view over a nice urban park. The staff were also great and spoke English. I won’t stay again, though. On the day we set off on holiday, the hotel put a holding amount on my credit card. Since I wasn’t there to approve the charge, my bank put the card on hold, and I had to spend more time than I wanted getting it unlocked. That was a silly thing for the hotel to do.

I spent five days here and found it a really nice hotel. The staff were attentive in every way. My main small annoyances were that there were no slippers in the room and the toilet bin wasn’t emptied often. I’d also have liked more pork-free and savory choices at breakfast.

My room was clean and roomy, with a desk, natural light from the window, good Wi-Fi, and hot water. The hotel is close to Gare and the Gare bus station. If you’re choosing Le Havre as a base for visiting Etretat, keep in mind that it’s a flat town with long distances, so walking around can be difficult. I didn’t find it the most attractive town.

We based ourselves here to explore the coastline, including Etretat and Deauville. The hotel is right by the main train and bus station, and the rooms are modern and nice. Good value for the price.
