L'Atelier Planqué

Anne and David’s 'hidden workshop' is a special place. They clearly put a lot of thought into what guests need and take care over the little details. The restored old workshop sits quietly at the back of their garden, a calm retreat where we had one of the best nights' sleep in years. Crossing the courtyard garden to our own entrance late in the evening, we were greeted by the lovely scent of jasmine and other plants. Anne and David were excellent hosts, attentive without being intrusive. They'd left detailed instructions so we could let ourselves in very late, and a midnight snack was waiting for us after a long day of driving. A thoughtful treat, thank you! It's a great spot for visiting central Le Mans, just a few minutes' walk from the main shopping and dining areas. The street is very quiet, and free parking is available in the square about 50m away. The accommodation is split over two levels: downstairs there's a toilet, sofa, TV, fridge, table, kettle and coffee machine; up steep stairs are the generous, comfortable bed, shower area and sink. The bedding and towels are new and high quality. Breakfast was delicious and generous, with drinks served exactly as we asked, a rare detail many hosts don't get right. We couldn't recommend staying at L’Atelier Planqué more. It has everything we want when we're away from home.
