The best part is that the place has been left untouched since it shut down years ago. Even the car is still in the parking lot, though it burned in the meantime, along with the beds, tables, and everything else. I went to check it out as an urban exploration spot, not to stay the night, and it definitely gives you a thrill. Just stay out of the toilets if you visit, you may wish you hadn't looked.

After watching Joyca's video, I'd steer clear if I ever went to Rouen. The place looks moldy and run-down, like a real chamber of horrors for an F1-style hotel.

Moral of the story, if you break down, do it somewhere else. You won't get help here. I hadn't stayed at this place and this evening's experience has put me off ever doing so, assuming I'd considered it. My son ran out of gas on his DT motorcycle right outside, so I came to help. The hotel's gates were wide open, and I could have stopped on the road, the sidewalk, or in the parking lot. For safety, I picked the lot so I wouldn't block traffic. A few minutes later, a man came over and asked if he could help. I thanked him and explained that we were nearly done. Once he realized we weren't guests, he told us to leave. I said that was ridiculous, we'd only need a few minutes, and he could show a little kindness and humanity. We weren't getting in the way of his customers, and there were plenty of other parking spaces. He insisted I couldn't be on private property without a reservation. I thought hotels were businesses open to the public, but apparently not this one. I had to move my car and park on the sidewalk out front instead. It was 10 p.m., and I don't think I bothered any pedestrians.
