VVF Belle-Île-en-Mer, Le Palais

We really appreciated the excellent food and the atmosphere throughout our four days on Belle-Île. The welcome was warm, the team friendly and attentive, and the manager responded constructively to feedback. A few small problems came up at the start, but they were sorted out quickly and efficiently. The setting could still be improved visually, but the essentials were more than adequate. It was a fantastic stay with a dedicated team that cares about guests' well-being.

The island is beautiful and the VVF is very well located, which helped save our stay. The pool was the one amenity we liked. Beyond that, the facilities were extremely disappointing. We chose not to take full board because of comments about the food. The accommodations are aging and badly neglected. The front door had a broken window held together with tape, the cleaning was poor, there was no Wi-Fi, and the lights flickered. The bare-minimum kitchen had dirty, scratched Teflon pans, and there was no vacuum cleaner. The bathroom was tiny and dirty, with no storage and disgusting grout in the shower. Dust and hair were clumped behind the sink unit, and the toilet smelled persistently from the moment we arrived. My two teenagers were in tears when we got there. I understand a full renovation takes significant investment, but clean, properly equipped accommodations should be the minimum at this price.

The photos in other reviews show the state of these accommodations for themselves. Given the unsanitary conditions, I don't think they should be rented out. What are the health authorities doing? They even send targeted ads to promote these properties. This was my first and last stay at a VVF holiday village.

The location was beautiful and we had fantastic weather, luckily. The accommodation was dirty when we arrived, the toilet had a water leak, and the curtains were pathetic and too small for the windows. The garden table was broken, there was no mirror, the coffee maker wasn't suitable, and the pool wasn't heated.
