A genuine, beautiful chateau, not some 19th century imitation. The countryside around it is excellent to explore, though you'll need a car.

The surroundings are peaceful and spectacular. We came across this wonderful Château, now converted into a hotel, while traveling around the Loire Valley. The gardens and pool were being maintained, so we got the chance to stroll around the grounds, which are normally reserved for guests and not open to the public. Merci Beaucoup for letting us visit. Our castle room was spacious and nicely decorated, and breakfast in the classic dining room was good. The setting is beautiful, though there's not a lot to do nearby. In good weather, Lac d’Eguzon is about a 30 minute drive and is great for swimming or watersports (picture). The extra charges on top of the hapimag points are quite high, over €400 for three nights.
