Les Agassins

We paid €60 with breakfast, which is why I gave it 4/5. The breakfast was very good, and the bedding was comfortable, but the rooms seemed only partly renovated and cleanliness was very limited. It's nowhere near four-star standards. It would work better as a good three-star hotel than a poor four-star one. The outdoor area could be pleasant in season.

We spent a lovely week here, and our little dog was welcome too. The garden was quiet and lovely, with a pool, and our room felt beautiful and cozy. The food was delicious and the staff really friendly. It's about 3 km from Avignon center, with private parking, so it's handy if you're traveling by car and want to explore Provence. We'd definitely come back.

The location was really convenient, close to the city and intra-muros, with buses passing by and easy access for sightseeing. But our night in room 9, if I remember right, was enough. The entrance door wouldn't lock, there was damp mold in the bathroom and wardrobe, and we struggled to breathe at night because the air quality was so bad. We also couldn't connect to the Wi-Fi, though we guessed it might just take time. At €100 a night, it felt very expensive for a four-star place. Maybe we had the worst room because we hadn't booked, but one night was plenty.

I was passing through Avignon and couldn't find anywhere to stay that night, then came across this place on the road to Le Pontet. Even arriving at 2 a.m., I got an exceptionally warm welcome. The prices are very affordable for a four-star hotel, and the service deserves five stars from me. The chef is a real chef too. I highly recommend it.
