The apartment was so peaceful, and the sea was only about a 10-minute drive away. We had a lovely stay: everything was clean and practical, and there’s an Intermarché supermarket very close by, with other shops a bit farther off. The manager was fantastic about the keys, really friendly and always smiling. I’d happily stay again, and definitely recommend it. B.CLOUARD, 74 Annecy

A good-value village house for short stays, with the essentials all there. The kitchen is equipped, and there’s a washing machine, linens and towels, plus a shaded garden and barbecue.

This could be a really good deal for the price, with better hygiene and more comfortable bedding. I don’t want to be too hard on this sort of place: turning a large house into a hotel can be useful, especially when other hotels are full. Still, being a hotelier takes more than just deciding to do it. Hygiene and comfort are basic, very important things.

Worked well as a stop before catching the boat to Corsica.
