le pont d'avoine

After the ownership changed, the food quality dropped, and the service at the till leaves a lot to be desired. The waitress does make up for it somewhat. (Edit, March 2019) Before that, I found the food refined and delicious, and the service very professional. It was also quiet enough in the dining room to talk without shouting.

Breakfast was good and had enough choice, though it could be better if you're staying longer than three days. The restaurant was good too, but it's a shame the owner makes everyone leave the restaurant or bar at 10:30 p.m., so evening drinks don't last long. The room was plain but clean, and the bed was comfortable. It was quite noisy on the street side.

The room was very basic for €106: no decoration, dated furniture, and so noisy we could clearly hear traffic and the neighbors. The shower room felt old-fashioned, and hygiene should be a concern. Breakfast was very basic too. Not good value for money. We'd been quoted €95 per night on the phone. The reception was pleasant enough, but they should be more humble. In my opinion, the room shouldn't cost more than €60. I'd recommend Fast Hotel or Best Western.

The food was excellent and generous, and the beds were comfortable. Everything was exemplary clean. The staff were friendly, always available, and took great care of customers. An excellent welcome and service from start to finish. I recommend it!
