Hôtel Jules

A few things to know: reception closes after 19:00, and there’s no English speaker at the desk. The bed mattress was firm, so if you have a bad back, you may wake up in pain. It also took a long time for warm water to come through, which was inconvenient and seemed like a waste of water. The hotel and room had a cozy feel, and the room was very clean. The woman at reception was polite and helpful. The location is great, right by the central pedestrian street where everything happens.

The room was perfectly good for two nights, with a minibar and excellent lighting. The shower and bathroom were great, though the bed could’ve been a bit more comfortable, just my personal view. Breakfast wasn’t really worth twelve euros. And it’s a shame all the TV programmes were in french, but I guess we were in France LOL!

Great bars and restaurants are within a two minute walk, and the location is cracking, close to everything. The place is very clean and presentable, though I wouldn’t call it a four star hotel. No complaints about the lovely bathroom. Some listings say parking is free, but it isn’t. If you’re not careful, you could pay €40 for a week. Parking in the green zone is free during the week. The breakfast was a sufficient continental buffet, but at €11 each I thought it was a little pricey, especially with so many cheaper options nearby.

The ground floor room was awful and not fit for a night’s stay. It was like an oven on the first night, about 5-10deg C hotter than outside. They replaced the air co before the second night, but it was still incredibly hot. I wouldn’t bring my family here, especially with little ones. The baby cot wasn’t ready when we arrived, the sinks were clogged, and people outside banged on the windows during the night. Breakfast didn’t impress us for the price either. We were so disappointed with the whole stay. It wasn’t a cheap hotel, and we expected better quality for what we paid.
