The views are the best part, looking over Le Treport harbour and across the bay to Mers-Les-Bains. These are simple studio apartments with the basics, including free WiFi, high above the harbour beside the church. It’s a steep walk down to the town centre and waterfront, and the building’s narrow stairs get especially steep near the top. There’s only public parking, and finding a space can be hit or miss. A few nice restaurants and shops are in town, and the free cliff elevator is well worth a ride. The local market is by the fish market on Tuesdays. A good spot for a few nights.

We’re angry and really disappointed. We’d booked the apartment more than three weeks ahead for May 11 and 12, 2024, but the owner canceled yesterday morning, on the day we were supposed to leave. At that point we couldn’t find anywhere else to rent. I can only guess why she canceled: perhaps someone staying there offered more, or perhaps she wanted the apartment for herself. Either way, be careful if you’re thinking of booking it.

We spent a week in the terrace apartment and were really disappointed. The place was damp and badly insulated, with the floor constantly wet and a smell of cat pee that never went away. The sofa couldn’t be used because a slat was broken. The owner was supposed to get in touch with me, but never did.
