The place itself is lovely, and the Wi-Fi worked well. There are two electric car chargers, though using them costs a lot. The stay was pricey, around €200 a day without breakfast. TV choices were mostly French, with ZDF and 3Sat available, and streaming wasn't possible. The kitchen only had a microwave, no oven. In the bathroom they use disposable plastic containers, which doesn't feel sustainable, and housekeeping, including fresh towels, happened just once during our seven days. Cars are parked beneath tall pine trees, often a little way down there.

We booked two lodges for the end of July. The staff were lovely and ready to help with anything, and breakfast was a real highlight, with plenty of variety. The lodges themselves felt cramped and in need of renovation. For what we paid, we expected better standards. Compared with places we've rented in Greece or Spain, this felt like a lot of money for fairly average accommodation. The pool is tiny too, with people sitting very close together and not much room.

We only had one night, so couldn't get a proper feel for the hotel. The setting in nature was lovely, though it's not really within walking distance of a good beach. Our room was practical and had everything we needed, including a little dishwashing kit that was much appreciated. The decor could use a bit more thought. Breakfast was very nice.

The forest bike trails start just behind this hotel, and they're incredible. The place feels like a nature and wellness retreat, with service that feels personal. Bartholemy was especially helpful and lovely. We'd gladly come back.
