Hôtel de la Plage

The burger at the restaurant was the best I've ever had, and the rooms were beautifully put together, right down to the light switches and fixtures. More than anything, the whole staff made us feel at home. They were kind, friendly, and went well beyond what we expected to help. I'd happily return again and again. Thanks to everyone for such a lovely stay.

We've stayed at the Hotel De La Plage twice this summer and would absolutely return. It's right by the beach, with compact rooms that are nicely done in a seaside style. The restaurant is excellent, the drinks selection is good, and the atmosphere is lovely. Reception were very helpful, especially Paulina, who really went above and beyond with restaurant suggestions, bookings, and taxis. I would add a full-length mirror to the bedrooms, and service could be quicker at times, though it was the height of the season. We had a wonderful time.

The hotel and setting are beautiful, and the room was stylish and comfortable, if a bit small for the price. The restaurant and bar have been renovated to a very high standard. It could have been a magical stay, but the service from most of the staff was awful and unfriendly. There were no smiles or welcoming recognition, and we were often ignored without an apology. We had to fetch our own drinks from the bar or deal with people who looked stony and disinterested. They seemed keener to joke around with their friends and chat with coworkers than serve guests. When some staff finished their shifts, they got beers within two minutes and carried on chatting and laughing loudly while customers stood waiting at the bar to order or pay. The two brown-haired ladies at reception and the bob-haired woman at the bar were the exception. They were consistently welcoming, friendly, and professional. The others let a beautiful place down, and sadly, we wouldn't come back.

It used to be a place to go for good food and drinks in a great setting. These days the service comes from surly, uninterested teenagers who seem allergic to doing business. The rules about seating and timing are absurd. Avoid.
