Le Pavillon Bleu

Thomas was very kind and accommodating, and we’d definitely come back. We stayed in a roomy triple room with two adults, our 3-year-old, and our dog. Each room has its own little outdoor area, and it’s an easy walk to the beach even with a toddler. The place was clean and seemed quite new. Breakfast was decent for the price, though it was a shame the restaurant and bar were closed for the season. It’s technically a motel, since the room entrances are outside. We really enjoyed our stay.

We barely slept. The room was dirty and unbearably hot at night, with no ventilation, and the beds were very uncomfortable. It was cleaned once during our stay, but the towels weren’t changed. No one mentioned that breakfast cost extra each day until checkout. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The rooms are clean and fine for a simple stay, but the nights were miserable. There’s no ventilation, so they get hot and humid, and we hardly slept during either of our two nights. There was no fan or air conditioning offered. Service was the most disappointing part. The staff seemed lazy and weren’t helpful or efficient. When our room wasn’t ready at afternoon check-in, we waited almost two hours, not 30 minutes. One waiter was kind and showed some service-mindedness by giving us a free round to make up for it.

The rooms are on the small side, but clean, with comfortable beds and lovely linens. We ate all our meals at the hotel restaurant because the food was delicious, nicely presented, and reasonably priced. The wine was excellent and fairly priced, too. The owner was pleasant, and the staff were efficient and accommodating. The beach is only a five-minute walk away. It was my first visit to Cape Ferret, and my girlfriend had recommended Le Pavillon Bleu. We had a lovely stay.
