After dinner, we enjoyed a walk around the grounds, and the pool was a lovely extra. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, and the food was exceptional. Franck and Silvere made us feel welcome right away. Their kindness and the lovely setting made it feel like being important guests in a French home, with the charm of a chateau and traditional French hospitality.

The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and the chateau has kept its history and charm after a recent renovation. The hosts were warm and attentive, and there’s a sunny outdoor pool. Such a lovely place, I’d happily go back. Thoroughly recommended.

We loved starting the day with a delicious breakfast in the garden, sitting in the morning sun. After exploring the area, the pool was a great sunny place to relax. Chateau Chavagnac feels like an authentic chateau, and the hosts were always ready to help and wanted us to have a great stay. We had a wonderful holiday and would stay at Chateau Chavagnac again on another visit to France.

The walls were so thin that we could hear every creaking floorboard, and the two men running the B&B started knocking on our door within 30 seconds of our baby making the slightest whimper. We were packing from 8am after just one night and were eager to leave, but apparently that wasn't soon enough. They knocked again and argued with my husband about the noise while his arms were full of bags and he was trying to explain we were already on our way out. He eventually had to close the door and carry on packing. In front of the other guests, they glared at us and told us off in French, even though they knew we only spoke a few words. They got right in our faces while I was holding the baby. I felt physically unsafe and thought about calling the police, but my limited French stopped me. This was ordinary kid related noise. We live in an apartment building in inner London and know how to behave with a child in a shared space. The intimidation was unforgivable. We couldn't even get our little one something to eat in the morning, so we had to drive into town to find food. This is no acceptable way to treat paying customers. Avoid.

A lovely atmosphere, and the hostess was very welcoming.
