Appart Hotel Relax Spa

The room was on the ground floor, so we heard noise from the three studios above us. There was no hot tub, just a shower, and instead of a garden view we looked straight onto the street. The host described it as “a garden view behind a service door.” My husband had booked this hotel so I could enjoy what was advertised as a luxury apartment, but it felt more like a basic studio. When we first raised the issues, the managers blamed Expedia. In a later exchange, they said the noise was the other guests' fault and blamed Expedia for everything else, even though the description below and its photos clearly show the apartment's features. They offered a €25 Expedia voucher as compensation and did nothing further. We won't let this go. I don't recommend it. 😡😡😡

Everyone I stayed with during the week was considerate, so the possible noise from neighbors didn't bother me. The owners were kind and attentive, and I enjoyed our breakfast chats and their great tips for exploring the area. My studio was very clean, with a kitchenette, a nice shower in the bathroom, and a ceiling fan. It's right in central Lens. I look forward to coming back.

Be careful when booking. We paid for what the website described as a luxury apartment with a hot tub, garden view, and soundproofing, but got a ground-floor studio with a shower and a direct view of the street. Noise from the three studios upstairs disturbed us. When I told the manager, he first said it was Expedia's fault, then admitted that the noise was the guests' fault and blamed Expedia for the rest. For the price we paid, that was a poor way to handle things. They clearly don't care about feedback. I don't recommend them.

The warm welcome from the lady and the quiet location were nice, and the room was laid out well, though its dark decor made it feel less bright. We stayed Monday night in the Notre Dame de Lorette studio, about a five-minute walk from Lens train station. The facade wasn't inviting, but inside it felt welcoming. Tea and coffee were included. The steam shower was great, but it needed descaling, and the generator made such an unbearable noise that only my husband got to use the steam room. I was really disappointed to miss out. The room opened onto a garden shared with another studio, with just one separate door, and there was no soundproofing. The bathroom toiletries weren't good, and the snacks had expired, which I found unacceptable for an apartment hotel. I told the woman before we left. At €110 a night, it was too expensive. I've stayed at Oceania hotels for €85 to €150 a night, but I think this place is worth only €70 to €80. Nothing special, and we were disappointed. We didn't have a choice.
