Hotel Louvre Lens - Esprit de France

We chose this hotel for a visit to the Louvre-Lens and the War Memorials in the region, and it turned out to be a great choice. The restaurant is probably the best in the region, at an accessible price, and there's also a nice gym area and sauna. Guillaume and Emeline were perfect, even when we had some complicated requests and needed flexibility. We came to Lens with few expectations and left with good memories and feelings.

Sadly, a death in our family meant we couldn't stay. I asked for a refund. I know I'd paid upfront, but given the circumstances and what I had to pay for, I thought they'd refund me as a goodwill gesture. They didn't, and offered another date instead. I've opened a chargeback with my bank and am waiting to see how it turns out.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean and nicely presented, and it must be almost new. The rooms are a little small, but it was still great for a four-star hotel.

Our motorhome broke down on the A26 near Lens, so we stayed at the Louvre Hotel while getting it fixed. The staff were a godsend, really kind, friendly and accommodating, and they offered us an upgrade. They recommended a brilliant restaurant in town, Le Lain de la Bouche, and their own restaurant was very good too. Our stay ended up adding to the holiday instead of cutting it short.
