The apartment was comfortable enough for our stay during the Spartan race Valmorel, and it's well placed, just a five-minute walk from the village center with lots of parking nearby. The booking took several emails to sort out because the process wasn't very clear, though it all worked out in the end. Bring towels and your own basics like salt, pepper and dishwashing liquid. There is kitchenware, but no consumables.
Some of the elevator safes were partly open, while others had boards closing them. Upstairs, a board in the hallway near the slate roof hides a huge crack in the wall, which is a real eyesore. The bathroom heating is awkward to switch on too, you have to get down on your hands and knees under the sink. Not great.
The views are unobstructed, and shops are only 50 meters away. The residence is ideally placed beside a high-capacity ski lift, so you can reach the whole ski area in just a few minutes. The telebourg cable car is also just steps away, making it easy to get back to the town center.
Valmorel is a lovely family resort, and the ESF ski school for children is excellent. The residence has ski-in/ski-out access, with lockers and an elevator, and it's right by the Pierrafort ski lift, Sherpa supermarket and a bar.
Handy place to stay, with a bar, mini-market and ski hire right next door. The slopes begin just beside the ski lockers.
