Chalet Hotel Le Menuire

The rooms at the back are quieter, and families with kids are well catered for, with clubs, attentive staff, and tailored meals. If you don't have children, the clubs can be a bit distracting. It isn't ski-in, ski-out: it's about five minutes by bus to the lifts and gondola. Service and food were good, apart from one dry baked duck dinner. The spa facilities were good too. The rooms are looking worn, though. The furniture, beds, and carpet need replacing; online, it looks like little beyond a coat of paint has changed in over 15 years. We booked at the last minute and got a reasonable deal. At a higher price, I would've been a bit disappointed with the room. A good place overall, but it's getting tired around the edges.

We had a great time, with lovely dinners every night and some good, silly entertainment. The staff were wonderful: they tracked down my purse after I'd left it in a cafe during the transfer, without any fuss. The location worked well. Our room was a little too warm, so we opened the balcony door. The sauna was perfect, though the pool could be warmer and better lit. We'd definitely return.

The Greek staff were what saved the place for us. We booked after a great stay at Neilson‘s El Tatar Hotel in Andorra and expected more from a spa, but most of this hotel felt mediocre. The bar and restaurant were cramped and run-down, and the food disappointed. Getting to the pistes was awkward. The kids club was great, but ESF ski school was awful. It wasn't worth the extra cost. I'd go to Andorra instead.

Our son was happy and excited to go to childcare (snowbusters) each day, even to ski school, which hasn't been our experience with other family ski companies. The activities were good, and the staff were amazing and always willing to help. Neilson have been superb again, even with our high expectations after visiting Andorra a few years ago. The food was really good and plentiful. Rooms were typical Savoyard, comfortable and completely adequate, without frills. When there's good snow, the hotel is nearly ski-in, ski-out, better than advertised. The pool was a little chilly, but the children loved it. We also enjoyed the free mountain expert ski-guiding sessions. We'll be back. Thank you!
