I’ve stayed in different Les Menuires apartments on six visits over the past 12 years, and this was the best overall experience. The location works perfectly for the Les Menuires and Roc 1 lifts, with ski-out and ski-back access, and it felt like very good value. The apartment was a good size with plenty of storage. It was basic but very clean, although a few light bulbs were dead. The kitchen was simple, which was fine for three people who weren’t cooking three-course meals. Reception welcomed us warmly, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s covered parking almost opposite the residence, booked and paid separately through the Tourist Office. I’ll book this apartment again if it’s available.

I chose this place for the last week of January 2024, and the dust turned out to be a serious issue for my friend with asthma. The apartment looked clean at first, but there were dust bunnies under the furniture and heavy buildup in the bedding and soft furnishings. Even with their usual medication and allergy supplies, my friend had an asthma attack triggered by the dust and allergens. They couldn’t stay and had to find and pay for somewhere else at short notice.

The only real plus was being at the foot of the chairlift. Otherwise, the apartment was old, dusty, and poorly maintained. The blankets were stained and dirty, and sheets with holes cost €12 per person. Equipment was outdated and patched up in a hurry, including the cleaning tools and clothesline. The WiFi didn’t work either. When three guests raised it at reception at the same time, they insisted the problem was our devices, not the hotel router. After an eight-hour drive and a reservation made three months earlier, the receptionist said she had no booking for me. I kept insisting, and she sent me to find someone from the Tourist Office. That person had to come back to the hotel and try to reason with her. After half an hour, we finally got a room that was supposedly cleaned, but there were hairs from the previous guest. This felt like a tourist trap where customers are treated like cash cows. The service was very poor. The area may be touristy, but that shouldn’t mean the accommodation or service can be neglected. Guests deserve respect too. If you can rent somewhere else, don’t hesitate.

The apartment was a little dated, but that’s common for mountain apartments, and it was more than adequate since we mainly needed a place to sleep. We mentioned a problem with the shower head during the day, and it was fixed that same day. We were hesitant after reading earlier reviews, but the residence’s location was a pleasant surprise. It’s right by the ski lifts, and getting off them puts you straight at the shopping malls, with everything close by. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again.
