Hotel Kaya

The views from our room were amazing. We had one of the four lovely rooms at the top of the hotel, and the food was exceptional throughout our half board stay. The children loved the dinner buffet, and the meals were great for both adults and kids. The staff were friendly, especially the receptionist, who gave us maps and notes about good places to eat. We ended up eating at the hotel every night. The ski in, ski out setup was useful, though getting the children to ski school meant walking along the road, which wasn’t ideal. One day after skiing, we returned to find a note saying we couldn’t use the shower because maintenance had been done and it needed time to dry. Maybe that could have been handled while we were out, but I’m not sure. The hotel ticks most boxes.

The breakfast was plentiful and had a wide variety, just right before a day on the slopes. A bus stops outside every 20 minutes, which was really convenient. My junior suite was spacious and extremely comfortable, and the restaurant had a lovely warm atmosphere. The hotel sits in beautiful surroundings and is a real gem. The staff were among the most helpful, professional and courteous I’ve encountered. I honestly can’t fault my stay.

The breakfast was wonderful, and dinner was exceptional. We enjoyed the variety and presentation of the menu all week, and the food was really very, very good. The staff throughout were polite, welcoming and attentive. It’s a quality, well-presented building right at the top end of the resort, with a great ski in, ski out location.

The bar lounge has a lovely fire, and Esther, who runs the bar, was super friendly and attentive. Nicolas’s restaurant was just as good, with very high-quality food at both breakfast and dinner. We found three pairs of rental skis there, all brand new and no more expensive than the usual franchise shops nearby. The hotel is ski in, ski out, with the ski shop attached, so I’d recommend using it. The rooms are luxurious and each has its own style. Alain, the manager, and his team work hard to make you feel at home, and the service is exceptionally good. It feels more like staying at a high-end ski chalet owned by a friend. We’ll definitely be heading back to hotel kaya.
