The mountain view from the balcony was lovely, and the room was warm, clean and spacious. We had a log fire in the sitting room and chose the half-board option. Dinner was at the restaurant just up the road, run by the same family. The set menu food was exquisite. Everyone was so helpful: they gave me steak instead of fish and explained all the different cheeses on the board. A really enjoyable winter holiday.

Philippe, his family and the staff were brilliant. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and very clean. The beds were immaculate, the cleaner must be ex-military! Philippe was especially helpful with directions for ski gear, transfers to the slopes and information about local amenities. Thanks for the great service, we’ll definitely be back. Adam, Jason and Harry Potter.

Dinner at the nearby Etoile Des Neiges was just as good as the hotel, with excellent food and service. The hotel itself felt genuinely family run, and M Jay and Mme Jay did everything they could for us. Our room was spacious, spotless and well cared for, the shared rooms felt cosy and welcoming, and breakfast was fresh each day. I was sorry to leave and say goodbye to the Family Jay.

The restaurant a little farther along in the village was very professional, which made the contrast with the hotel stand out. Breakfast was a real letdown, and the stay was poor value for money. We were a long way from Austrian service standards, though at least we understand our position better now.
