Langley Hotel Tango

The Swedish staff were lovely, polite, and happy to help. We stayed in December 2025 and found the rooms stylish and comfortable. Happy hour runs from 5 to 6:30 pm. Fabulous hotel, highly recommend! ❄️❄️❄️

Linnea and Rhiannon deserve a special mention. They were friendly and professional, made us feel at home, and went out of their way to make our stay better. The whole team was welcoming and everything ran smoothly from arrival. We had a fantastic ski and snowboarding trip at hotel Tango. The location made getting to the slopes easy, and after a day on the mountain we enjoyed the cozy lounge, good food, and comfortable rooms. We'd happily come back and recommend it for a ski getaway. Thanks to everyone, especially Linnea and Rhiannon, for making the trip so memorable!

Room 106 had a balcony over the restaurant, where guests drinking and smoking outside made it noisy. The bedroom was small, the twin beds narrower than standard, and there was very little wardrobe space or a safe. The room was cold, and staff said extra blankets weren't available, so we had uncomfortable nights. There was also a strong sewage smell in the bathroom. I reported it at check-in, and staff put something in the drain, but it took hours before we could return. A dirty brush was left there, and its replacement didn't work. The tap water smelled unpleasant too, so we used bottled water to brush our teeth all week. Dinner on our second night was another problem. We waited 39 minutes to be served, despite asking several times, while tables seated after us got service first. My daughter's meal was dropped on the floor, then someone tried to serve her the remaining fries. Sauce went over our shoes, shopping bags, and coat, and the waiter laughed without apologizing. It felt unhygienic and unprofessional. I was also charged for the chicken dish included in our half-board, and staff didn't seem to know the menu details even after I explained. We ate elsewhere for the rest of the week. A maintenance worker entered our locked room without warning. We woke to a strange man inside; when we screamed, he ran off without introducing himself or explaining why he'd come in. We felt unsafe after that, but reception's response was unsatisfactory, and my request to speak to a manager went nowhere. We braced the door with our suitcases for the rest of the stay. The bathroom flush panel was off all week, leaving pipes exposed; it was fixed while we were out on Friday, and we checked out Saturday. There were no lockers for skis and boots, despite signs about people missing skis. I stayed at Tango Hotel in Val Thorens for a week from January 11. The location is beautiful and the hotel has potential, but I had a disappointing experience. I've enjoyed many visits to Val Thorens over the years, and hope this feedback helps improve things for future guests.

We came back for Christmas this year, but the service had slipped, which was a shame. The new manager seemed very hands-off and the kitchen was overwhelmed. We'll stay somewhere else next year. Last year, we spent New Year week at Hotel Tango in Val Thorens and thought it was superb, so we booked again for the following Christmas. The rooms were clean, cozy, and modern. People mentioned the wet-room bathrooms in reviews. Yes, the floor got wet in the shower, and the design wasn't perfect, but it didn't affect our holiday. Food was varied and consistently tasty, with care put into how it was prepared and presented. The restaurant was lively but relaxed. Staff were lovely and helpful, though when the restaurant was full they sometimes seemed rushed and service suffered. That was rare. The manager stood out then: calm, hands-on, and very present, with a clear commitment to guests having a good stay. We loved our New Year visit and couldn't wait to return. Our one suggestion was more alcohol-free drinks at the bar, perhaps non-alcoholic spirits like Seedlip. The bar had a great atmosphere, but as non-drinkers we went elsewhere in Val Thorens a few evenings to find those options. Adding them could improve the experience and bring in extra business.
