Les Balcons de Val Thorens

The team made our two weeks over Christmas and New Year 2025-2026 unforgettable. The apartment was great, and the adults and our three kids enjoyed their daily wellness time. We even had champagne for New Year. The house and location were lovely, but the team made it special. Ski in and out, a supermarket, parking spaces, and more made it a perfect place to stay in Val Thorens. It isn’t cheap, but every euro was worth it. Happy to see you all again in a year!

We’re a group of 10-12, and this is our third year staying at this Residence in Valtho. There’s enough room for everyone, and the spa and other amenities are really good. The ski locker is well set up for keeping all our gear outside the apartment, which is handy. One downside was a blood-stained sofa bed cover that was unpleasant enough that we had to take it off. Also, if you book the forfait package, remember to collect it at reception on day one. Ours weren’t there, so we were sent to the Peclet office. It was a misunderstanding between the residence and ski resort staff, and we lost part of our first ski day.

The spa was a hit with everyone, and the area and apartment are very dog friendly. Our Samoyed Bob loved playing in the snow. We had three floors for ten people, with a spacious bathroom, bathtub, and toilet for everyone. The rooms are a bit dated and noisy, though. The location is amazing for ski in and out, with a supermarket and two nice restaurants about five minutes away on foot. Parking is easy and close by. Staff were very good: they fixed a slightly clogged shower and a dishwasher missing a piece on the same day, and helped with parking requests. It’s not luxury accommodation, but for the price it’s comfortable and well worth it.

We’ll be back for a fourth stay. We were in apartment 119 this year. The views are still epic when the clouds lift, and the spa is a great extra. Half board was good too, with plentiful food in the restaurant. The bathrooms and kitchen have been refreshed, but there are still maintenance problems: showers drain slowly, toilets refill slowly, and bed frames are broken. These are the sort of things that probably won’t get fixed while we’re staying.
