Residence Le Silveralp

We paid over 5k for what was supposed to be a ski vacation, but ended up with fines, extra expenses, broken equipment, sleepless nights and a humiliating mess. We booked through Booking.com to Jupiter Residences, and the apartment and agency ruined our family holiday. When we followed the key pickup instructions on the first day, we opened the door to strangers already inside. It was mortifying. Their guests called their agency, and someone came over and questioned us as if we were breaking in. They took our only access badge, so we couldn’t even get our luggage upstairs. Later they gave us just one badge for four adults who ski in separate groups. We had two cars, but the single parking space they’d promised was occupied by somebody else’s car. I have photos. The agency kept saying they were “coordinating,” but nothing got sorted. While we were dealing with the entrance issue and had nowhere to park, we got a ticket. We had to find and pay for a public garage ourselves. The apartment looked nothing like the photos. It had old, dented pans, broken electrical outlets and chairs, and a damaged bathroom door. It was far too small for four adults and two kids, with no separation between rooms. Bedding was prepared for five people instead of six, with a pillow, towel and sheets missing. I called and messaged multiple times and got no reply. Only after I sent a formal legal letter did someone finally bring a sheet and pillow, but still no towel. The kids slept on the open second floor, where every sound carries through the whole place. None of the adults got proper sleep, and some of us could barely breathe up there because it was so cramped. We’re continuing the legal process we started now that we’re home. If nobody does anything, more people will be victimized by this operation. Warning: they recently changed their name on Booking.com and use other names on platforms like airbnb. Expect another rename when the reviews pile up ;-)

The three-bedroom duplex was good value and felt comfortable for five, which the kids loved. The stairs are a little tight, and anyone over 1.90 m may find them awkward. The location is almost right at the slopes, with ESF access about a 70 m walk and the kids’ club directly opposite. A bakery is across the way, a small grocery store about 100 m away, and a lift to the village shops only 20 m from the building. There are plenty of mountain restaurants nearby, though even in April they were full, so book ahead. We heard some outside noise in the evenings, but it wasn’t too bothersome, and it’s noisier higher up. The building has easily reached ski lockers. We booked through the Val Thorens reservation site and got good service.

There are no sheets, towels, toilet paper, soap, or anything else provided, and the place is extremely small. Getting the keys is a nightmare: reception is often unavailable, and the pickup point is somewhere else. Ski gear can’t be carried through the entrance, so it has to stay in a damp locker at another location. They also ask for a £900 deposit and make it difficult to get back. Spend your money somewhere else.

The apartment itself was okay, but Ma Cle Immo, the agency running it, are a bunch of scammers. The induction hob’s glass was cracked from top to bottom when we arrived, and now they’re claiming we caused the damage. Unbelievable. Stay away from them.
