We came with friends for a ski trip, but I wouldn't come back. At check-in, the receptionist asked for a €300 deposit per room even though we'd already paid on booking.com. She said it wasn't her problem, then accidentally charged my friend's card instead of putting the deposit on hold. One room absolutely stank of cigarettes, and the staff were rude and no help at all. At checkout they said they'd keep the deposit because of a noise complaint. We explained we'd been told we wouldn't have to pay it, and when they checked with security, it turned out we weren't required to pay after all. They just hadn't bothered to check earlier. Really wouldn't recommend it. Avoid if you can.
We enjoyed the views during our week here. Paying extra gets you a balcony with a lovely outlook over the village and slopes. The room was compact and up to date, and there are basement lockers for skis and helmets. The main noise came from machines running at 3am and skiers passing from 9am. Most of the ski lifts open at 9 and close at 5. Nice hotel, 3.3/5.
We were three people in a room meant for four and still felt short on space. The room was tiny, and one of the beds was broken. The heating didn't work at all, though we were lucky to have good weather. When the key broke as we tried to open our locker without using much force, we had to pay 85€, yes, 85€ for a key. The receptionist said nothing could be done, and they deducted the amount from our deposit.
The new beds aren't as comfortable as the old ones, but the refurbishment looks great and feels more modern. There's a new hob, and the shower is great. For a budget stay, it's a great option in a brilliant location.
Had a brilliant first stay at Résidence Tourotel, at 200 Rue de la Lombarde, Les Belleville, France. Five stars from me! The location is a dream, right on the slopes, so you can ski straight out to the lift and glide back to the door. The valley views from the window are stunning. The rooms were warm, clean and cosy after skiing, and there was plenty of tidy storage for skis and boots. There was lots to do in the shared space, including board games, billiards and table tennis. For quieter moments, there's a library and a cosy fireplace. The rooftop terrace was a real highlight, with loungers and panoramic mountain views. If you're after comfy accommodation, a great ski location and a little luxury, Résidence Odalys Tourotel has it all. Can't recommend it enough!
