MGM Hôtels & Résidences – Résidence Chalets Laska

For over 500 euros a night, I expected a lot more. There were some good points, including a nice apartment, views and amenities, but the problems outweighed them. The room thermostat didn't work, there was no hot water for two days, and the spa couldn't be used for two days because of a gas issue. Parking was poorly controlled, and smelly bins sat beside our car throughout the four days, even after staff were told. I was promised an email about compensation, but a week passed with nothing. I've sent two emails and still haven't had a reply. It's a shame, because the place has potential.

Our booking was cancelled a week before the holiday, with no explanation or help finding another place. They told us to contact Booking about a refund. My family was coming from the US, and we were left completely on our own. Luckily, the tourist office helped straight away. I'll go directly to them from now on.

Our Christmas stay was cancelled with only five days' notice. They gave no proper explanation beyond administrative issues, offered no alternative accommodation in Les Contamines and provided no compensation for the ruined holiday. The customer service was shockingly bad. I wouldn't recommend booking here.

Our New Year holiday was cancelled, and they made no effort to help us find somewhere else. Being late isn't an excuse. A business should provide the service, or a similar one, that customers paid for. Future guests, don't book unless you're completely sure the place exists and has been built.
