The location was one of the best things about Andromède. Diable chairlift is less than a five minute walk, with the public escalator making it easy to get there. It's in the liveliest part of Les 2 Alpes, close to restaurants, bars, a supermarket and a bakery. We didn't need the car, so finding a spot in one of the public car parks instead of having private parking was fine for us. We spent a week with three friends in one of the 20 m2 apartments for four. I've been staying in French ski apartments like this for over 30 years, and this was among the better value places I've had. There were the usual signs of wear, like dents and scratches on the floor, walls and doors, but nothing that really affected the holiday. The apartment was basic but big enough for four. The kitchen was up to date, with a four-ring hob that worked perfectly and a small dishwasher that didn't work very well. The sofa was too short for anyone over 1.90 m, as is often the case in France, but the shower height adjusted high enough for me to use comfortably, which was a big plus. Our terrace faced the main ski area and had a nice view. We used it to keep our ski gear because the ski lockers were damaged and too small for two snowboards and two pairs of skis. Reception staff were very friendly and took our inventory comments into account. We left the apartment clean, without causing any more damage, and got our deposit back.

I wouldn't recommend this accommodation to anyone. Check-in was awful: we waited two hours in minus 14 degree weather. The rooms are often missing items, and if you forget to note them on the sheet they give you on day one, they'll keep your deposit. We left our studio in very good condition, and the only fair comment was that we'd left some butter in the fridge. Apparently that butter was worth 100 euros, because our money wasn't returned. Don't bother trying to make a complaint unless you speak French. There was no one multilingual to help, though I'm sure native French speakers will enjoy chatting with the staff. Staying here felt like a modern form of interrogation.

I'd sooner sleep in a car. The only things I'd miss are a shower and stovetop. There's no storage in the rooms beyond the kitchen cupboard, so four people's ski gear turns the place into a mess. The bunk beds squeak so badly that the others wake when you turn over, and the mattress is so thin and soft that you feel the board beneath it. The fourth person basically sleeps on the floor in the couch drawer. There are only three power outlets if you're using the fridge and dishwasher, and we had just three chairs for four people. The list goes on.

I found the apartment very dirty, especially the bathroom, where the shower drain was clogged. I cleaned up and even bought liquid to unblock the drain, leaving the place cleaner than I found it, but still had 100 euros taken from my deposit as a cleaning penalty. I felt robbed.

The rooms are small for four, and the kitchen supplies weren't ready for that many people either. But the reason I wouldn't return is the stairwell. It smelled strongly of human feces, which felt really unhealthy.
