The staff were all warm and wonderful, and we had a great time. We stayed in our camper, so can't comment on the accommodation, though it all looked good. The loos and showers were excellent, and using the washing machines wasn't extortionate. There are cycle routes, circular walks, and fishing right from the site, plus the municipal pool is fantastic and free for campsite residents. It's also very handy for Puy du Fou. We'd definitely go back, that's the strongest recommendation we can give.

The chalet itself was modern, clean, and pleasant, and the staff seemed nice. But our late June 2022 stay had a lot of frustrating snags. We could hear the Puy du fou Cinéscénie music as if it were in the next field, mostly stopping just after midnight, so bring earplugs. The biggest problem was arrival and getting information. I prefer speaking with someone on site before arriving, but every phone number online seemed to lead to Capfun's central reservations office. I called three times and couldn't reach anyone at the campsite. The app, or Compte Clix, was off-putting and hard to navigate, with what looked like advertising for other Capfun sites. I couldn't find clear information in it. A welcome email a week before arrival with late arrival, pool, restaurant booking, bread service, and reception details, plus a direct phone number, would help. I could only find reception hours on booking.com, which I hadn't booked through, and it said reception was open until midnight. When we got there at 7.30pm, reception was closed. There were envelopes for us and other late arrivals, but our chalet was hidden in a back corner, out of sequence with the others. The sheet's emergency number went unanswered, and nobody called back after I left a message in French saying we couldn't find the chalet. We eventually did, but a note on the door directing late arrivals to the adjacent bar for help would have been useful. The bar number was in the envelope, but it wasn't clear why. The setting is lovely, with a picturesque little lake in front of the bar and small restaurant. It mainly serves pizzas and salads, which were quite tasty. There's a tiny shop with basic items, and morning bread has to be ordered at the bar the previous day. The pool information online was conflicting: Capfun uses a picture of the adjacent municipal pool in its advertising, which I found misleading. Campsite visitors did get in free when we were there in late June, though it wasn't clear if free entry applied all year or only in July and August. Opening hours are limited, and on our visit it closed an hour early. We had returned early after a long day at Puy du fou specifically to swim, so missed out. Our Raoul Top Presta chalet had a sliding bathroom door that was blocked twice by an open wardrobe door during my first four hours. It only opened about 8 inches, leaving me stuck in the small gap. It was scary, and luckily someone else was there to get me out each time. A door stop would fix it by keeping the wardrobe door from opening all the way. Finally, the cleaning fee seemed very high, 100 euro or more if you don't clean the chalet before leaving. A 50 euro charge would seem much more realistic. The staff were pleasant and the chalet was nice, but some basics need work. It's convenient for Puy du fou, and perhaps management relies on that, but phone contact, pre-arrival information, and clear expectations about the pool all need improving.

The kids had enough to keep them busy while we relaxed. It's a small campground close to Puy Du Fou, an amazing theme park with reenactment shows, and has everything you need.

Our holiday at La Breteche was a complete letdown, and we will never return. We stayed from 8-8-18 to the 19th with my husband and children, though we had booked until the 20th. We'd hoped for the peace and quiet promised on the website and paid €559.09 for 12 nights. We'd stayed here in 2012 and had a lovely, relaxing holiday, visiting Puy du Fou and the area and resting on a sunny pitch. This time we were put on pitch No 23, a very cold, shady spot beside a resident worker in his campervan. We would have left days earlier if we could afford it. From the moment we arrived, loud rave music came from his van. My husband was already stressed after a long drive through France as we set up the caravan. He complained at reception after two hours, but was told the man worked at the site and they'd speak with him; they couldn't move us because it was full. The music was turned down a little, but that repetitive sound continued at all hours. My children, including one who is only 14 and needs sleep, were kept awake until 2am most nights. It made it hard to get up early for the full Puy du Fou experience. Even on our planned rest day, we left our pitch every lunchtime to find some sun and quiet. We also had to clear dog poo from the pitch when we arrived, mostly at the back by the campervan, where his dog and cat were. The cat roamed freely and clawed holes in our 14 year old's tent lining. He was very upset, and after two nights of tears because bugs were getting in, we went to Decathalon to buy him a new tent. The worker would sit on his step cleaning and sharpening a sword, which upset my husband. Often, when we came back, the back of our pitch smelled of whacky backie/ hash, so we couldn't sit there even when some sun came through the trees. When we left, there was a rotting mouse with flies near my son's tent. I'm very unhappy that he had to deal with all this on holiday. The restaurant staff were rude, and the toilets often had no paper or soap in the evenings. I would give this campsite 2 stars at best, not 4. It's the worst pitch we've ever had, and I won't recommend it to my camping and caravanning friends back home in England, on Facebook, or on your website. I'm not sure we'll stay at any of your other sites either, even though we visit France every year. We save hard for our holidays and normally love coming to France, but this one was a total disappointment.

We had a quiet, well-kept campsite in a perfect spot for Puy de Fou, staying in a mobile home for two nights. We really liked it, and plan to return next year to do the same thing.
